  • 分轻质和重质两种。轻质体积蓬松,无嗅无味无毒。难溶于纯水及有机溶剂,在水中溶解度因二氧化碳的存在而增大。能溶于酸、铵盐溶液。遇空气中的二氧化碳生成碳酸镁复盐。重质体积紧密,与水易化合,露置空气中易吸收水分和二氧化碳。与氯化镁溶液混合易胶凝硬化。

  • 工业生产轻质氧化镁:海盐区的盐化工业中,主要以苦卤、浓厚卤、高温盐为原料,生产轻质碳酸镁或轻质氧化镁。已工业化的生产方法,有纯碱法、石灰法和碳氨法。 (1)纯碱法各工序控制的工艺条件为: 1. 配料 2. 反应 3. 洗涤 4. 热解 5. 压滤 6. 焙烧 7. 粉碎包装。纯碱法生产轻质碳酸镁或轻质氧化镁,工艺成熟,产品质量较高。但要消耗纯碱,淡水消耗量也较大。 (2)石灰法是石灰乳代替纯碱,与卤水中的氯化镁反应生成氢氧化镁,再用二氧化碳气体碳化,生成碳酸氢镁。采用石灰法时,卤水中的硫酸根应尽量减少,否则生成大量的硫酸钙沉淀,夹杂在产品中。该法的优点是用石灰代替纯碱,降低了成本。缺点是,工艺流程及设备比纯碱法复杂,并副产大量的CaCl2溶液需设法处理。 (3)碳氨法的原料是高浓度的苦卤、浓厚卤或高温盐溶浸液。使用的碳氨是碳酸氢氨、碳化氨水或直接向卤水中通入氨气和二氧化碳气体,以碳氨代替纯碱与卤水中的氯化镁或硫酸镁发生反应,生成相应的碳酸镁。反应式如下: 1. 含MgCl2和MgSO4的卤水与NH4HCO3溶液反应:MgCl2+2NH4HCO3=Mg(HCO3)2+2NH4Cl MgSO4+2NH4HCO3=Mg(HCO3)2+(NH4)2SO4 2. 若直接向卤水中通入氨气和二氧化碳。 3. 生成的MgCO3·3H2O和Mg(HCO3)2热解后得碱性碳酸镁:Mg(HCO3)2+2H2O=MgCO3·3H2O+CO2↑ 5{MgCO3.3H2O}=4MgCO3.Mg(OH)2.4H2O+CO2↑+10H2O 4. 碱性碳酸镁焙烧得轻质氧化镁:4MgCO3.Mg(OH)2.4H2O=5MgO+4CO2↑+5H2O 碳氨法工艺条件控制:1. 原料液的浓度和反应温度 2. 热解温度 3. 脱水、洗涤与干燥 4. 焙烧 5. 母液处理。 碳氨法生产轻质碳酸镁和轻质氧化镁,与纯碱法相比,工艺简单,产品视比容较高,碳酸氢氨的供应渠道较多,成本较低。但母液蒸发浓缩处理能耗较高。

  • 其他用途:主要用作氯丁橡胶及氟橡胶的促进剂与活化剂,可作黏合剂、油漆及纸张的填料。亦可用于制造陶瓷、搪瓷、耐火材料及氧化镁水泥等。在医药上用作抗酸剂和轻泻剂。
