理化性质:碳酸钴亦称“碳酸亚钴”。化学式CoCO3。分子量118.94。红色三斜晶体。比重4.13。折光率1.855、1.60。不溶于水、氨水、乙醇、醋酸甲酯，溶于热酸(并放出二氧化碳)、碳酸铵溶液、二硫化碳和乙醚。加热时分解，真空中加热至350℃时，生成二氧化碳与氧化钴。被空气氧化或与弱氧化剂作用生成碳酸高钴。以球泡酸钴矿形式存在于自然界中。由硝酸钴或硫酸钴溶液与碳酸氢钠的饱和溶液共热，先制得桃红至紫红色针状晶体六水合物(CoCO3·6H2O)，然后经140℃加热而成无水物。碳酸钴相关化学反应如下：（1）碳酸钴与酸作用生产钴酸盐和放出二氧化碳气体。（2）碳酸钴能被过氧化氢氧化成三价钴的化合物。（3）碳酸钴或氢氧化钴在真空中或惰性气氛中加热分解均可制得氧化钴，氧化钴可用于钴盐制备、制油漆颜料、陶瓷釉料和有色玻璃，用作钴催化剂。用途：用作玻璃和瓷器的着色剂、土壤和动物饲料的微量元素添加剂及用于制钴盐、催化剂和温度指示剂等。
